Biggest Mistakes When Booking Cruise Transportation

#1 Not planning to arrive the day before embarkation

For the most part modern travel is safe, comfortable, and reliable.  Which makes it all the more shocking when things go wrong.  In taking a cruise a tight schedule is a bad thing and leaves you open to a chance at missing your cruise due to a delayed flight or a flat tire.  A package booked through Go Port prevents this, and we offer a wide variety of Port Canaveral hotels.  When you arrive a day early, whether you’re driving or flying in, you’ll spend the night in one of our comfortable partner hotels  on the beach or in Orlando so even if you’re delayed you still have plenty of time to make it to your cruise.

#2 Not booking transfers in advance

A mistake many first time cruisers make is not booking their cruise transfers (transportation from airport to cruise, airport to hotel, port to airport, etc.) in advance.  Shared shuttles are cheaper than cabs.  Go Port addresses the problem with packages that include a hotel stay and transfers that cost less than cab fare from Orlando airport to Port Canaveral would on its own.  If for some reason you ignore #1 on this list and decide transportation is all you need, then Go Port also offers professional transportation packages to make sure you make it to your cruise.  Assuming your flight arrives on time.  We cannot stress enough how important arriving the day before your cruise is.

#3 Not planning for Disembarkation

Many of the same issue that applied when embarking also apply when disembarking.  Leave plenty of time to get off of the ship, and to the airport.  Missing a flight is a lousy way to end your cruise.  Instead give yourself two to three hours to to make it from Port Canaveral to the airport and through security.  The Orlando Airport (MCO) is 45 minutes from the Port.
When taking a shuttle back to the airport often times it’s a shared or group shuttle.  This means that the shuttle will not depart until it’s full. If you have an early flight, the last thing you want is to be waiting for the rest of the riders.Go Port offers another solution, if your flight is between 10:30 AM and 12 PM we can upgrade you to Express Transportation. The Express shuttle departs the port at 8 AM sharp, and will get you to the airport around 9 AM.

A flight any earlier than 10:30 AM will be tough to make with shared shuttle service.  Upgrading to private transportation will get you swiftly to any of three Port Canaveral airports in plenty of time for your flights. Call us and book today 321-735-8833
