This mesmerizing time lapse shows the piece by piece construction of the 167,600 ton, 1,033 ft long MSC Meraviglia cruise ship. The Meraviglia was built at the STX France shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, the same shipyard where Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas was assembled. MSC Cruises captured not one, but two stunning videos of the ship’s construction. See how it all came together in these bow and stern-view time lapses.

The Meraviglia, which translates to “wonder” in Italian, is sure to amaze with its contemporary design and feature-filled decks. It is the biggest ship ever built by a European-based cruise line able to carry 4,500 passengers at double occupancy. The Meraviglia will begin service in June of 2017 and spend its first summer sailing the Western Mediterranean.
